Roger Wilson, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Urbana, has been a member of the Urbana University athletic family as a booster and announcer for nearly 40 years. We are pleased to honor him as a member of our second class of Hall of Fame inductees.

He first became active as one of the chief founders of the Esquire Club on May 11, 1967. He has been a member of the board of directors since that day. In 1968, Judge Wilson became the school's regular announcer at all home basketball games, adding football upon that sport's reinstatement in 1985. His wit and professionalism are well documented. His ability to cook up a pun or two is legendary.

A native of southern Illinois, Judge Wilson received a degree in history and government in 1958 from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He earned his Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1961. After serving as a captain in the United States Air Force, he entered private practice in Urbana for six years. In 1970, he was elected judge in the Court of Common Pleas and has maintained that post.
