Basketball great David Gustin ('81) has been named the 11th member of the Urbana University Blue Knight Esquire Hall of Fame. He was honored during the Urbana University Pepsi Hall of Fame Basketball tournament held November 16.

Gustin received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical and health education in 1981 and later completed his master's degree at Wright State University. A forward for the Blue Knights, Gustin was 6th on the all-time Urbana scoring list (at the time of his induction) with 1,758 points in 109 games for an average of 16.1 ppg. In Gustin's senior season, the Blue Knights finished at 18-13. Three times, he was an All-Mid-Ohio Conference and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' All-District 22 honoree.

Gustin has coached high school ball at London High School and Riverside High School, where his squad won three West Central Ohio Conference titles in four years. In 1987 he was WCOC Coach of the Year, the same year his Pirate team finished 16-5 and 11th in the final Associated Press state poll. He also coached in the District 9 All-Star Game from 1984-1987.
