Hall of Fame
Dave Ross ('76) has been a consummate supporter of the University and its athletic programs. He was honored with Urbana University's prestigious Three Arches Alumni Award in 2005. The University also saluted him by renaming Maple Hall dormitory as Ross Hall. In addition to over 30 years of dedication to radio and television broadcasting, he has been a professional wrestling ring announcer and is a member of the Midwest Championship Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Dave has authored a book on the first century of Sidney High School football. Ross is a past president of the Blue Knight Esquire Club and founded the Urbana University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. He was named as a member of the University's Board of Trustees in June of 2006. He has judiciously served on the Urbana alumni board and was integral in the advancement of the Urbana University Stadium project.
Ross, a 1976 Urbana University graduate and its first Sports Information Director, completed his MBA from the University of Dayton in 1978. A generous philanthropist, he has been a major donor for several developments including the aforementioned Urbana University Stadium, University of Dayton Donoher Basketball Center, Sidney Memorial Stadium, Shelby County Historical Society, and the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA. Urbana University is pleased to induct Dave Ross as the 28th member of the Urbana University Athletic Hall of Fame.
