Dr. Michael W. Rengert ('81) received his B.S. in education from Urbana in 1981. The Cardington, Ohio product was ranked second (at the time of his induction) on the all-time basketball-scoring list with 1,969 points. Over his four-year career he averaged 17.7 points over 111 games.

Rengert was a leader on the 1980-81 team that finished at 18-13 and earned a trip to the NAIA district playoffs. Rengert went on to become a doctor of chiropractic after receiving his advanced degree from the Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri. After working in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Dr. Rengert opened his own practice in Oxford, Ohio.
