Jim McCracken ('78) was a 126-pound wrestler who twice qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Championships. He was a two-time titleholder in both NAIA District 22 and the Mid-Ohio Conference. In 1978 he was named the recipient of the Tim Luebke MVP award and the Clara May Frederick Scholar-Athlete Award.

After receiving his B.S. in elementary education and secondary physical education in 1978, Jim went on to a highly successful coaching career at Sidney High School. He was named Coach of the Year in the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association in 1988 and his Yellow Jacket teams have captured one GMVC title and have been runners-up six times (at time of induction). He coached the Sidney squad to a school record 78 consecutive dual meet wins.
