Men's Golf Posts Top MEC Championship Finish in School History

DANIELS, W. Va. – The Urbana University men's golf team tied for fourth at the MEC Championship after posting an overall team score of 304 in Wednesday's final round. It's the team's highest finish ever at the league championship as the Blue Knights recorded a total team score of 929 (312-313-304) – the second-lowest 54-hole score in school history.

Zach Petticrew and Martin Trochu led the Blue Knights in a tie for 14th as both shot 231 (+15). Petticrew impressed in the opening round with a 74 while Trochu got stronger throughout the tournament and carded a 74 in the final round.

Right on their heels was Luc Toupin and Mack Cushman. Toupin finished one stroke behind in 16th place with a 232 (+16) and carded a 76 on the final day with three birdies. Cushman fired a 75 in Round 3 and also had three birdies. He ended up tied for 21st at 235 (+19).

Rounding out the lineup was Kyle Glaser in 31st place with an overall score of 253 (+37).

Glenville State's Kyle Chung shot 1-under (215) to earn medalist honors. Concord University took home the team championship with an overall team score of 908. Charleston (917), Davis & Elkins (923) and Fairmont State (929) rounded out the top team finishers.
