Men's Golf Ties for Second at Cedarville Invite

XENIA, Ohio – The Urbana University men's golf team closed out the fall season with a second place finish at the Cedarville Invitational on Tuesday.

UU tied with Ohio Dominican with an overall team score of 613 (+37) at Country Club of the North. The Blue Knights recorded a 312 in Monday's opening round and tied the 12th-lowest round in school history with a 301 in Tuesday's finale, finishing just seven strokes behind Cedarville for the lead.

The Blue Knights had an impressive outing as the entire lineup finished within four strokes.

Zach Petticrew and Martin Trochu both carded a 74 in the final round to lead the way. Petticrew finished tied for fifth at 8-over par 152 while Trochu tied for eighth at 10-over par 154. Close behind were Luc Toupin and Mack Cushman, who both finished at 11-over par 155 in a tie for 10th. Kyle Glaser tied for 14th overall at 12-over par 156.

UU also had two golfers compete as individuals, including Camden Van Velzor (174/t27th) and Tyler Smith (178/29th).

The host Cedarville Yellow Jackets won the two-day tournament with an overall team score of 606, led by medalist Jared Hoelzen at 2-over par 146.
