RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The Urbana cross country teams returned to action Saturday to compete in the Patty Forgey Invitational, hosted by Rio Grande. The UU women's team finished fifth in the 5K run with 132 points while the men's team had four individuals compete in the 8K race.
Freshman
Darshay Foster led the way for the Blue Knight women with a 19th-place finish. Foster registered a final time of 23:59.99 for a team-low 13 points.
Ashlynn Miller (41st - 28:00.81), Ash Lee Humer (46th - 36:51.41),
Emilee Skerbetz (47th - 38:43.98) and
Sheyenne Wilhelm (48th - 39:38.21) rounded out the Urbana lineup.
On the men's side, sophomore
Matt Hull was the top Blue Knight finisher. Hull crossed the line in 63rd place with a total time of 35:57.49 in the 8K. Three others ran for the Blue Knights including
Daniel Quiroz (71st - 44:20.45),
Logan Griffith (72nd - 46:35.46) and
David Gilbert (73rd - 48:17.24).
Lindsey Wilson College won both the men's and women's team titles.
UP NEXT: UU is back in action next week when it travels to the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Cedarville.
