BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Arthur Assfeld is the Mountain East Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Urbana's
Gianna DeCello is the Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced today.
Assfeld, a junior from Toul, France, won a pair of events and was third in another over the weekend at the Malone Invitational. He won the 100-yard free with a time of 47.97, and followed that up with a win in the 50-yard fly with a time of 23.23. He also took third in the 100 fly and swam anchor in the 200 free relay that finished runner-up.
DeCello, a freshman from Hamilton, Ohio, won the 50-yard fly at the Malone Invitational with a time of 27.54. She also recorded top-five finishes in the 50 free (26.24) and 100 free (57.11).
