Foster Claims Pair of First-Place Times in Opener

ELKINS, W. Va. – The Urbana University men's and women's swimming teams opened the 2019-20 season at Davis & Elkins Friday night in West Virginia.

The host Senators defeated the Blue Knights 173-56 on the women's side and 203-14 in the men's head-to-head competition.

Jaybreona Foster led the way, sweeping the women's breaststroke events with a time of 1:13.98 in the 100 Breast and a mark of 2.40.72 in the 200 Breast. Her fastest career time in the 100 Breast (1:11.34) also came at Davis & Elkins two years ago. The junior from East Liverpool, Ohio also placed second in the 200 IM Friday night (2:28.41).

Additionally, senior Ashlynn Miller and junior Jaelle Lindon each produced a pair of second-place finishes on the women's side. Miller produced a personal-best in the 100 Back with a time of 1:13.40. Sophomore Magdaline Perry also competed Friday night along with her sister Cady Perry, who made her collegiate debut with a third-place finish in the 200 Back.

The UU women came in third place during the 400 Free Relay with an overall time of 4:23.58.

On the men's side, Tomas Olivos and Nathan Hart took the pool in three events for the Blue Knights. Olivos recorded a third-place finish in the 100 Fly (1:02.44) and also the 200 IM (2:15.59). Hart's top finish came in the 200 Breast, where he ended up third with a time of 2:45.19.
