URBANA, Ohio – Urbana head men's soccer coach
Nick Roberts announced the signing of Seth Tyson and the addition of transfer Chris Lytus to the 2020 roster.
Lytus, a 5-foot-9 forward, has already enrolled and will join the men's soccer team during the team's spring non-championship season. A native of Westervillle, Ohio, Lytus played the past two seasons at Division II Findlay where he played 13 games and made four starts. Lytus graduated from Westerville South High School and led the Wildcats to a district title and regional semifinal appearance in 2017. He was a two-year varsity captain and All-Ohio Capital Conference Special Mention.
Tyson, a 5-foot-11 goalkeeper, has signed a National Letter of Intent and will become a Blue Knight in the fall. A native of Kettering, Ohio, Tyson was named a first-team All-Greater Western Ohio Conference performer his final season after posting the fourth-most saves in the league. He also appeared on the Miami Valley Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Sectional First Team and served as a team captain. Tyson ended his career with over 180 saves and five shutouts.
Urbana finished 10-6-3 (10-4-2 MEC) last fall, marking the club's fifth straight winning season. The Blue Knights are 30-9-4 in home games during that span.
