WHEELING, W.Va – The Urbana University men's and women's cross country teams closed out their season at Oglebay Resort for the Mountain East Conference Championship meet on Saturday morning.
Darshay Foster led the way for the women's team by finishing the six-kilometer course in a time a 32:17.59 while Matthew Hull was the first member of the Blue Knights men's team to complete the eight-kilometer course at a 35:37.2 pace.
Claire Otte of David & Elkins won medalist honors in the women's race by finishing in a time of 23:23.95. Jack Mastandrea of the University of Charleston claimed the medalist honors in the men's race with 26:04.2 time. Mastandrea was also the MEC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Sheyenne Wilhelm (48:10.79) closed out the runners for the UU women's cross country team.

Isaiah Mitchell (41:56.0),
Daniel Quiroz (41:58.8), and
Logan Griffith (42:56.4) were the other finishers for the UU men's cross country team.
Svea Timm of Davis & Elkins won both the MEC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors while her coach, Jason Pyles, won MEC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year honors.
For the men's side, Nate Leichter of Concord was the MEC Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Year. The University of Charleston's Nick Bias won the MEC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year title.
