WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The Urbana University cross country teams raced Friday afternoon at the Jenna Strong Invitational, hosted by Wilmington College.
The UU women finished the 5K race with a team score of 1081 for 34th place. Led by
Ashlynn Miller's 26:29.2 mark, the Blue Knights finished with an average time of 30:33. Rounding out the lineup were
Sarah Pond (29:57.5),
Alyssa Myers (31:17.2),
Ash Lee Hummer (31.19.5) and
Sheyenne Wilhelm (33:40.9).
Ball State claimed the women's team title with a score of 48 and average time of 1:33:31.
On the men's side, UU completed the 8K race with a team score of 1138 in 36th place. The Blue Knights combined for an average time of 2:50.43, paced by Matthew Hull's time of 32.50.7. Also running for UU were
David Crossgrove (33:24.9),
Joe Brown (33:58.2),
Logan Griffith (34:55.4),
David Gilbert (35:13.4),
Vitor Takakura (36:10.5),
Daniel Quiroz (38:38.9) and
Dakota Lewis-Griggs (44:19.1).
Miami (Ohio) won the men's team title with a race-low score of 58 and average mark of 2:08.06.
