Urbana's Streak Snapped by No. 5 Wheeling Jesuit



WHEELING, W. Va. - The Urbana University women's volleyball team had its nine-match win streak snapped following a 3-0 setback at fifth-ranked Wheeling Jesuit Friday night.

UU fell by scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-17 inside the Alma Grace McDonough Center.

Urbana moves to 18-12 overall and 8-5 against Mountain East Conference foes while the league-leading Cardinals earned their 30th victory and remained undefeated in conference play (13-0).

Katlynn Dunlap reached double-digit kills for the seventh straight outing, leading the Blue Knights with 11 kills and eight digs on the night. Mikaela Beck gathered a team-high 12 digs and just missed a double-double effort with nine kills.

As a team, UU was limited to a .115 hitting percentage as the host Cardinals posted a mark of .337. The Blue Knights hit .306 in the opening set but fell below .100 in the next two frames.

Urbana returns to action on Tuesday night when it travels to West Liberty for a 7 p.m. match.
