AMHERST, N.Y. – The Urbana women's volleyball team split Saturday's doubleheader with back-to-back five-set matches. UU fell to host Daemen College in the opener before rallying to defeat Ursuline in the tournament finale.

Junior Courtney Niesen was one of six players named to the All-Tournament team. She averaged over five digs per set in three matches.

UU jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Daemen by scores of 25-20 and 25-23 to begin Saturday on a high note. However, the Blue Knights let the match slip away as the host Wildcats rallied back, 25-18, 25-12 & 15-12. Daemen's Allison Post registered 21 kills and 10 digs to lead all scorers.

The Blue Knights piled up 16 aces and recorded six blocks. Sophomore Hannah Delor led with 10 kills and 16 digs, while Niesen collected 22 digs. Junior Anna Davis and sophomore Hayley Delor combined for 30 assists. Sophomore Lexi Reinert and freshman Riley Adleta each contributed with seven and six kills, respectively.

In the finale versus Ursuline, UU battled back from a 2-1 deficit with a clutch performance at the end of the fourth set. The frame was tied at 18-18 before a pair of kills from Adleta and Natalie Perez sparked a 7-2 run. Then in the fifth, UU kept the momentum rolling by closing out the match on an 11-1 run.

The final set scores were 23-25, 25-14, 17-25, 25-20, 15-5.

Freshman Maggie Burns led the way with 15 kills while the Delor sisters each posted a double-double. Hannah recorded 14 kills and 11 digs while Hayley posted 11 digs and 10 assists. Adleta finished with 10 kills and Perez filled the stat sheet with eight kills, six digs and four blocks.
Davis delivered 38 assists and Niesen racked up 28 digs.

Ursuline didn't have a player record 10 kills, but had five with double-digit digs.
