WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Urbana University men's wrestling team fell in Tuesday's non-conference road dual at Otterbein University by a final score of 38-11.
UU drops to 2-6 overall on the season in dual meets while the host OU squad improved to 6-2.
After trailing 9-0, the Blue Knights fought back to claim an 11-9 advantage following three consecutive victories.
Freshman
Jake Edwards won by decision, 3-2, at 141 pounds to get Urbana on the board. Sophomore
Jared Ford defeated Jacob Williams by tech fall, 18-2, at 149 pounds to make it a one-point match. Then, sophomore
Cole Houser followed with a narrow defeat over Ryan Whitten in overtime, 5-3, which put the Blue Knights ahead on the scoreboard.
However, Otterbein eventually pulled ahead with four straight pins and a tech fall. The Cardinal lineup featured No. 15 Corbin Bunsold at 184 pounds and the top-ranked wrestler in the nation at 285 pounds, Drew Kasper.
