Shooting Sports Holds Women on Target Event

URBANA, Ohio -- Urbana University Shooting Sports hosted more than 20 local participants in the 4th Annual Women on Target® Clinic, hosted last Saturday at the Champaign County Sheriff's Office range.

The women, ages 11 to 78, received basic firearm and archery instruction from certified instructors provided by Champaign County 4-H Shooting Sports, Urbana University Shooting Sports and Western Ohio Personal Safety/Firearm Training Group.

UU Shooting Sports Club Director Ken McCabe said the event was funded by a "Step Outside" grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The equipment was provided in part by grants from the NRA Foundation and Champaign County Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited, he mentioned.
