ATHENS, W. Va. – Urbana men's basketball (0-3) suffered a 99-79 road setback against Concord (3-2) Monday afternoon inside the Carter Center.
Freshman duo
Matt Treacy and
Datrey Long led the Blue Knights in scoring. Treacy recorded 22 points, including 14 in the first half, on 9-of-17 overall shooting with three 3-pointers. Long posted a season-high 21 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc and 8-of-16 shooting overall.
Senior
Malik Jacobs also reached double digits with 16 points and team-high three assists.
UU claimed a 22-19 lead with 9:46 left in the first half following a three-point play from Long and a made free throw by
Hadley LeVan.
However, CU responded with a 12-0 run over a two-minute span and never looked back.
The Mountain Lions built a 51-37 halftime lead and then extended the lead to as much as 26 in the second half.
CU shot 67.3 percent overall from the floor and nearly 58 percent from three-point range on 11-of-19 shooting. UU shot 41.2 percent overall and 30 percent from range.
Tommy Bolte led five Mountain Lions in double figures with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
The Blue Knights only turned the ball over seven times, but were outrebounded by the hosts, 43-25. CU held a 44-34 advantage on points in the paint.
