Blue Knights Split Midweek Tri-match

UU rolled past Central St. 3-0 and fell to Tiffin 3-1

URBANA, Ohio -- The Urbana women's volleyball team split Tuesday's home non-conference tri-match with Central State and Tiffin.

UU (14-13) opened the busy night in Grimes Center with a straight-set triumph over the Marauders (6-20), 25-7, 25-11, and 25-11; before falling to the Dragons (14-11) in four sets, 20-25, 18-25, 25-20, and 14-25. Tiffin won the third match in straight sets over Central State.

The Blue Knights were led by Katlynn Dunlap in both matches as the senior outside hitter recorded 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Senior middle Aleese Butler stepped up with a season-high 11 kills in the opener and then kept it rolling with the team's second-highest kill count against Tiffin with eight.

 
 
 
Up next:
Urbana returns to MEC play Friday when it hosts West Virginia State (11-12, 3-6 MEC). The Blue Knights are currently tied for third in the league standings with Shepherd and Charleston.
