URBANA, Ohio – The Urbana University men's basketball team fell at home Thursday night against No. 8 Fairmont State by a final score of 110-90.
Urbana (1-21, 0-16) never led against the Falcons, who built a 25-point halftime lead to move past the Blue Knights.
UU came out of the break on a 15-1 run, and got within eight points on a
Mike Newton jumper with 12:20 left, but that was as close as it would get.
The Blue Knights out-scored the visitors by five in the second half.
Sophomore guard
Carlas Jackson poured in a team-high 20 points, which included a perfect 10-of-10 shooting at the charity stripe.
Freshman
Austin Adams tied his career-high with 16 points for the second straight game and senior
Mike Newton also contributed 16.
Fairmont State improved to 20-3 overall, and was led by Matt Bingaya's 20 points.
Urbana returns to the Grimes Center on Saturday against Shepherd. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
