Blue Knights Drop Exhibition at Division I IUPUI

UU returns to action tomorrow night at Wright State (7 pm)

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Urbana University men's basketball team fell in a road exhibition game at IUPUI Monday night, 109-67. The Blue Knights continue their December exhibition tour tomorrow night with a 7 p.m. contest against nearby Wright State in the Nutter Center.

Freshman guard DeQuan Abrom continued his strong play this season with 20 points to lead UU in scoring Monday night. The 6-foot-2 Upper Marlboro, Maryland native has now produced double figures in six consecutive outings while shooting 52 percent from the floor.

Junior Carlas Jackson and sophomore Demetrius Carr also recorded double digits with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Jackson has scored 10 or more points in seven games this season.

As a team, UU shot 33 percent overall and made 10 3-pointers for the fourth time in a game this season. The Blue Knights finished 10 of 29 (34 percent) from beyond the arc as Abrom and Jackson each knocked down three treys.

The Blue Knights took decent care of the rock, surrendering only 10 turnovers while causing 21 takeaways with 11 steals on defense.

Following Tuesday night's exhibition, Urbana (3-5) returns home to the Grimes Center for a Thursday night matchup against Wright State-Lake at 7 p.m. ET.
