Big Plays Lead Urbana to Comeback Win at Charleston

CHARLESTON, W. Va. - The Urbana University football team secured a 35-34 comeback win over Charleston on Saturday inside University of Charleston Stadium. Redshirt junior quarterback Tajuan Green accounted for five touchdowns and over 400 yards as the Blue Knights improved to 3-5 (2-5 MEC) on the season.

TURNING POINT
With 10:22 left in the game, Charleston scored on a two-yard run to extend its lead over Urbana, 31-21. However, UU struck back on its first play of the next possession with a 68-yard touchdown reception by Camryn Snow to cut the deficit back down to three, 31-28. The Golden Eagles tacked on their second field goal with 3:49 left to go up six, 34-28, but the Blue Knights responded again with another big play. With 2:20 showing on the clock, Tajuan Green broke free and scampered 58 yards for his second rushing score of the game to tie the score and then Ross Snodgrass drilled the PAT to put UU ahead by a point. Charleston had one last chance to put together a two-minute drill, but Josh Dillard picked off a tipped pass to seal the Blue Knight victory.

URBANA STANDOUTS
  • Tajuan Green had a career day with three passing touchdowns and two more on the ground to go with 411 yards of total offense. He went 16 of 23 for 323 yards passing and one interception, while totaling 88 yards on 14 carries.
  • WR Trevon Saunders caught his 12th touchdown of the year and hauled a team-high six receptions for 108 yards. The junior has now scored in 13 of the past 15 games of his career, including every game this season except one.
  • WR Camryn Snow was a big-play machine with touchdown catches of 53 and 68 yards. He totaled a career-high five catches for 165 yards.
  • RB Fred Crow totaled a career-best 54 rushing yards on eight carries, averaging 6.8 yards per rush.
  • LB Josh Dillard grabbed his third interception of the year which is the most by a Blue Knight in a season since 2013. He also had 10 tackles and a sack on Saturday.
  • Zach Severance recorded a career-high and team-leading 14 total tackles.
  • Andre Cliff had 13 tackles and Carlton Rematt ahd 12, while freshman Sherman Watson and freshman Rodell Rahmaan each secured a career-high 11 stops.
  • Logan Smith and Isaiah Turner were each credited with one QB hurry.
