Blue Knights Fall in Rare Mid-Season Exhibition Game

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Urbana men's basketball team suffered a 96-55 loss during an exhibition matchup against NCAA Division I member Bowling Green on Sunday.

Sophomore guard Carlas Jackson led all scorers inside the Stroh Center with 20 points. Jackson recorded 17 of those points across the first 20 minutes, while shooting 5 of 9 from three-point range and 7 of 11 overall from the field.

A Jackson 3-pointer tied the game at 26-26 with 6:44 left in the first half, as the Blue Knights eventually went down by 12 at the midway break, 42-30.

Freshman forward Jahmere Howze added seven points and led UU with five rebounds. Sophomore guard/forward Matt Csuhran also chipped in with seven points off the bench.

As a team, UU shot 31 percent overall from the field, and 31 percent on 3-pointers, while making six free throws on just 10 attempts. The Falcons shot 56 percent on field goals and had five players reach double figures in scoring.

UU faded in the second half and was outrebounded 44-34 during the contest.

Urbana (1-5, 0-2) returns to action this week with a pair of league games at the Grimes Center. The Blue Knights will host Charleston on Thursday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. ET, and West Virginia State on Saturday, December 5 at 4 p.m. ET.
