UU Comes Up Short at Charleston

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Urbana fell in straight sets at Charleston Friday night, as the Golden Eagles picked up their fifth straight win. The Blue Knights went down 25-12 in the opening set, but battled back in the next two to keep it close with scores of 25-20 and 27-25.

Urbana fell to 7-11 overall and 1-5 in Mountain East Conference contests.

Katlynn Dunlap registered her fifth double-double of the season with a match-high 16 kills and 11 digs. Megan Verhoff was efficient on the attack, finishing 7-of-12 (.500) on the court. Maia Dunlap collected a team-high 13 digs and Mary Hendricks led UU with 27 assists.

Urbana returns to action next week with a pair of back-to-back road matches at UVa-Wise (Friday, Oct. 16) and Concord (Saturday, Oct. 17).
