UU Swept at Fairmont State

FAIRMONT, W. Va. – The Urbana University volleyball team was swept in three sets at Fairmont State Saturday afternoon – 17-25, 15-25, 13-25. The Blue Knights fall to 10-14 overall and 4-9 against Mountain East Conference opponents. UU returns home to the Grimes Center next Friday, Nov. 6, when it hosts Wheeling Jesuit.

As a team, UU hit just 0.018 for the entire match with 25 attack errors. Madison Davis led the Blue Knights with seven kills and four digs. Megan Verhoff finished with six kills, while Aleese Butler and Mari King each contributed five.

Mary Hendricks recorded 12 assists and Maia Dunlap secured a team-high 12 digs.

UU led once during the entire match, when it went ahead 2-1 early in the second set.

Fairmont State's Kaitlyn Witsaman produced a game-high 11 kills, as the Fighting Falcons totaled only 13 attack errors.

UU's Friday night match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
