URBANA, Ohio – The Urbana University Acrobatics & Tumbling team won its home opener Sunday afternoon 244.245 to 221.985 in a dual meet against Glenville State College.
Urbana improves to 2-0 with its first home win in program history, which follows the first victory in team history captured in last week's season opener at Davis & Elkins. Glenville dropped to 0-1 following its first meet.
UU led 86.90 to 76.00 at halftime, which included an impressive 26.70 out of 29.40 points in the Pyramid event. The Blue Knights also posted 26.30 in Acro which had a 29.85 start value.
After the intermission, Urbana came within just 1.90 points of its start value in the Toss event for the closest margin of the day (25.35 out of 27.25). The Blue Knights rode that momentum into the final two events and cruised to victory over the Pioneers.
Urbana would end up victorious in each event and improved its score from last week in five events: Compulsory, Acro, Pyramid, Tumbling and Team.
