Voisinet & Foster lead Urbana on Day 3 of conference meet

CANTON, Ohio – The Urbana University men's and women's swimming teams head into Saturday's final day of action in sixth and seventh place, respectively, at the 2020 GMAC/MEC championships.

The Blue Knight men's team has tallied 158 points through 31 events while the women's squad has racked up 134 points.

For the men's team, Jacob Voisinet recorded a 10th-place finish in the 100 breast final with a time of 1:00.34, improving from his prelim time of 59.13. Voisinet earned third-team All-MEC honors with the finish.Tomas Olivos also earned points in the same event with a finals time of 1:04.53.

Matt Wheeler finished 15th in the 100 back final, good for 12 points, while posting a time of 58.87.

On the women's side, Jaybreona Foster finished 12th in 100 breast finals for 15 points with a finals time of 1:09.93. Jaelle Lindon ended up 24th in the same event with a finals time of 1:16.38.

Additionally, Ashlynn Miller and Magdaline Perry competed in the 500 free prelims. Ashleynn finished 36th with a finals time of 5:54.11 while Magdaline finished 38th with a mark of 6:04.68.

Three from the women's team raced in the 100 back prelim, including Ashlynn Miller (27th – 1:07.84), Cady Perry (31st – 1:12.10) and Mackenzie Miller (34th – 1:20.78).

Nathan Hart also competed for the men's team with an appearance in the 100 breast prelim, where he finished 30th with a time of 1:08.44.
