CANTON, Ohio – Urbana wrapped up Day 1 at the 2020 Great Midwest Athletic Conference/Mountain East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted Wednesday-Saturday this week at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
On the women's side, three Blue Knights raced in the 50 free prelim including
Jaelle Lindon,
Cady Perry and
Mackenzie Miller. Lindon barely missed the finals cut in 25th place with a time of 25.92. Perry finished 60th (30.41) while Miller was close behind in 62nd (31.33) in the first conference event for the two freshmen.
Magdaline Perry also competed on Wednesday with a finals time of 12:50.91 in the 1000 free, where she finished 42nd.
For the Blue Knight men's squad,
Matt Wheeler and
Nathan Hart each raced in the 50 free prelim while
Tomas Olivos made an appearance in the 200 IM.
Both of the Urbana 200 medley relay squads finished ninth. The women's team recorded a time of 1:58.27 and featured
Ashlynn Miller,
Jaybreona Foster,
Jaelle Lindon and
Magdaline Perry. The men's squad posted a time of 1:46.03 which included
Matt Wheeler,
Nathan Hart,
Tomas Olivos and
Jacob Voisinet.
Entering Day 2 tomorrow, the Blue Knights are in ninth place on both sides of the standings as the men's and women's teams each have 40 points.
