URBANA, Ohio --
Sylvia Hudson tied the school's single-game scoring record with a career-high 38 points and 20 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to outlast West Virginia Wesleyan Thursday night. The visiting Bobcats edged Urbana 107-99 in double overtime.

Hudson's historic night also saw her reach 1,000 career points while also finishing with a career-highs in steals (7), assists (6) and made free throws (12). She reached 1,000 points in dramatic fashion by sinking the final basket of regulation to send the game to overtime.

In addition, Hudson became the 21st NCAA Division II women's basketball player to record 20 rebounds this season with her point total the highest among that group. No other player in the country has recorded at least 30 points, 20 rebounds, five assists and five steals in one game.

Urbana went into the half with a 46-45 lead over Wesleyan as the two teams clawed at each other for 50 minutes.

UU led by four at the start of the fourth quarter after a Nikki Current jumper made it, 65-61. Then, the two teams traded runs. Wesleyan put together a 12-2 run to build a six-point advantage, 73-67, with just under six minutes remaining in regulation. But, the Blue Knights countered with a 9-3 spurt as Hudson's layup with 1:07 left tied the score at 76-76.

In the first overtime, the lead changed three times until Hudson's free throw with four seconds left tied the score again to force another extra period. Then, Wesleyan stormed out on a 10-1 run to start the second overtime and the Blue Knights couldn't recover.

It was Urbana's first double-overtime game since last year's road game at West Liberty on Jan. 17, 2018 (L, 110-106).
