WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – The Urbana women's basketball team suffered a 95-56 road defeat to West Liberty Wednesday night inside the Academic, Sports and Recreation Center.
UU dropped to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in Mountain East Conference games while WLU improved to 5-3 (2-1 MEC) on the season.

Sylvia Hudson tied her career-high of 13 made field goals for 27 points, but that was about all UU had offensively. Hudson also had six boards, three steals and two blocks. Sophomore guard

Erin Morrow led the team with eight rebounds.
WLU's Marissa Brown and Taylor Johnson each scored 22 points to lead the Hilltoppers. Morgan Brunner added 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting from three-point range while Johnie Olkosky secured a game-high 10 rebounds and Audrey Tingle handed out 13 assists.
// MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- UU claimed the game's first lead when Hudson grabbed a steal and fastbreak layup on the opening possession. However, that was the only lead the Blue Knights would hold the entire night.
- WLU's All-America forward Marissa Brown hit the bench with two fouls in first four minutes which helped UU keep pace early on. The teams were tied 11-11 with under four minutes to go in the first quarter, but a 10-2 WLU run ignited the home team.
- UU ended up getting outscored 31-14 in second quarter after the WLU run swelled to 25-5. The 31 points are the most points allowed in a quarter this season as WLU moved ahead 52-27 at halftime.

- The Hilltoppers' effort on the glass played a major role with a 62-35 rebounding advantage, including 19 offensive boards.
- UU shot just 30 percent overall from the floor and went 0 for 10 from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, WLU knocked down 13 treys including seven in the second quarter alone as the Hilltoppers shot at a 45-percent clip overall.
- Hudson notched her 16th career 20-point game. She tied her career-high for made field goals in a game (13) which also happened at West Liberty on Jan. 17, 2018. She also tied her career-high for most points in a conference game, scoring 27 for the third time in her career.
- WLU hit a buzzer-beater shot in each of first two quarters.
- UU's nine points in third quarter is the second-lowest total scored in a quarter this season. The Blue Knights scored seven points in the first quarter at UVa-Wise.
- UU only managed to record five assists while WLU dished out 25 helpers.
- WLU registered 17 of its 19 second-chance points in the first half off 12 offensive boards.
- WLU hit seven 3-pointers in the second quarter and 10 of its 13 total treys in the first half.
- UU failed to make a 3-pointer for the first time this season and only the third time since 2013-14.
- UU suffered its worst rebounding margin since March 3, 2016 (-34 vs. Notre Dame College).
- Senior forward Erin Morrow made her second start of the season and 24th of her career.
