UU Suffers 4-1 Setback at Notre Dame (OH)

 SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The Urbana women's soccer team fell 4-1 at Notre Dame (OH) in Wednesday's Mountain East Conference matchup at Mueller Field.

Alyssa Garberich (Springfield, Ohio, Shawnee/Wright St.) scored her second goal of the season, arching a long shot from 20-plus yards away to even the score at 1-1 in the 25th minute. Both of Garberich's goals this season have come against the Falcons.

Notre Dame remained undefeated on the year and improved to 6-0-0 (6-0-0 MEC) while Urbana dropped to 1-6-0 (1-5-0 MEC). The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute and then broke the 1-1 tie with the game-winner in the 40th minute to move ahead 2-1 at the break.

The Falcons added two more goals in the second half and kept the Blue Knights off the board.

UU managed only two shots on goal, both from Garberich, while NDC registered 12 shots on frame. The Falcons held a 5-4 edge on corner kicks.

Notre Dame has captured 11 straight wins over the Blue Knights, dating back to 2006.
