FAIRMONT, W. Va. - Urbana University men's basketball fell on the road Thursday night against the fifth-ranked Fairmont State Falcons, 127-85, inside Retton Arena.
The Blue Knights are now 10-13 (5-12 MEC) on the season, and with five games left, UU is among five squads vying for the final three MEC Tournament bids. The Falcons improved to 22-1 (16-1 MEC) and remain unbeaten against UU in the all-time series between the schools.

DeQuan Abrom paced UU with 18 points and six boards while sophomore forward
Jahmere Howze also reached double figures with 13 points and five rebounds.
AJ Washington chipped in with nine points and nine boards, along with
Tyler Ellis who scored nine in the first half.
The Knights shot 46 percent overall but made only 6 of 24 three-point attempts while the Falcons made 11 of their 17 treys in the first half alone. FSU shot 53 percent overall and topped UU 66-45 in bench scoring.
The inability to handle the ball against pressure led to UU's early demise as the Knights totaled a season-high 30 turnovers. Before Thursday night, UU had only one game all season where it gave the ball away 20 times.
UU hung around at the onset and trailed 16-14 with 13 minutes left in the first half. Then, FSU strung together a 21-4 run to put the game out of reach.
The Falcons were led by six players in double digits, including Matt Bingaya's game-high 21 points.
Urbana returns to the hardwood on Saturday when it travels to Shepherd for a 4 p.m. tipoff.
