Urbana Topped by West Liberty on Senior Night

URBANA, Ohio -- Urbana fell 3-1 to visiting West Liberty Friday night in the Warren G. Grimes Center. UU staved off the shutout with a 25-17 win in the third set, but couldn't keep the momentum going. West Liberty won the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-16, before taking the fourth by a final score of 25-18.

Katlynn Dunlap led the Blue Knights on "Senior Knight" with a team-high 14 kills and 17 digs for her 52nd career double-double. Aleese Butler (nine kills) and Cecily Clark (eight kills) also chipped in on the attack while Deandra Atwood and Anna Davis each provided over 20 assists. Maia Dunlap gathered a team-high 19 digs on the defensive side.

Overall, the team attack percentages were close as WLU out-hit UU .182 to .151. The Hilltoppers dominated the service game with an 8-1 edge on aces and UU managed only four blocks to WLU's four.

Up next:
UU hosts No. 21 Wheeling Jesuit tomorrow in the home finale at Grimes Center. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. following the Urbana home football game.
