Blue Knights Shut Out by 10th-Ranked Bobcats

URBANA, Ohio -- The Urbana women's soccer team fell 2-0 Sunday afternoon against No. 10 West Virginia Wesleyan at UU Stadium.

UU drops to 1-8-3 overall (1-7-3 MEC) while WVWC remains unbeaten at 10-0-1 (9-0-0 MEC) on the season.

The visitors scored once in each half with the game-winner on a penalty kick by Marissa Zetty in the 19th minute. The Blue Knights struggled to gain possession in the opening half and trailed 1-0 at the break.

Then, the Bobcats scored another goal early in the second half when Madison LaPole cleaned up a loose ball in the box.

UU managed only two shots on frame by Jordin Littles and Savannah Morgan. Wesleyan finished with nine shots on goal as UU keeper Katherine Beech registered seven saves.

UU will entertain Wheeling Jesuit at UU Stadium on Thursday afternoon for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
