Second-Ranked Hilltoppers Shoot Past Blue Knights

WEST LIBERTY, W. Va - Urbana was outgunned by No. 2 West Liberty Thursday night by a final score of 121-76 inside the ASRC.

The Blue Knights came out firing and led the Hilltoppers 10-9 at the first media timeout. From there it was all WLU though, who hit the most 3-pointers by a UU opponent this season with 14 treys.

Shooting guard Carlas Jackson led UU with 24 points, knocking down six three's to continue his hot-shooting from beyond the arc. The sophomore has now drained at least five 3-pointers in three straight games.

Forward Jahmere Howze and point guard Mike Newton also reached double figures with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

As a team, UU shot 40 percent overall and collected a season-high 11 steals on defense.

Urbana returns to action Saturday against Notre Dame College in the regular season finale. Seniors Dimitri Abner and Newton will be honored before the 4 p.m. tipoff.
