Jim Kaufman

Jim Kaufman joined the Urbana University Department of Athletics as compliance coordinator prior to the start of the 2019-20 academic year. His primary role is providing support to the Associate AD for Compliance for implementing and monitoring NCAA, Mountain East Conference and Urbana University regulations for all Blue Knights programs and club teams.

Prior to Urbana, Kaufman served two years at Thiel College (PA) as Assistant Director of Sports Information & Compliance. In addition, Kaufman served as an Adjunct Professor of Health and Physical Education at Thiel. 
 
Kaufman arrived at Thiel with experience at various levels of athletics having previously worked for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Professional Soccer Club, and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
 
From 2015 to 2017, Kaufman served as an Associate Contract Professional and Lead Buyer at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) where he purchased over $5,000,000 in equipment for the U.S. Navy.

Kaufman served as an athletic department intern and was a member of the men’s track & field team at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (NCAA Division II), where he was twice named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete. 
 
Kaufman worked four seasons as a game day marketing representative for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2015 to 2018.

In 2018, Kaufman was selected to attend the NCAA's Emerging Leaders Seminar.
 
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Kaufman earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2015. He completed his master's degree in intercollegiate athletic administration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2018.
