Danielle Norton is in her first season as assistant softball coach at Urbana University.
Norton joined the UU softball program after playing against the Blue Knights in 2018 as a grad transfer at MEC-rival Charleston. With the Golden Eagles, Norton played first base and started all 52 games while posting a .292 average, 10 doubles, 24 RBI and one home run.
Prior to UC, Norton played at Davis & Elkins (DII) where she produced stellar numbers and was named all-conference three times. Norton started all 143 games for the Senators and posted a career .358 average and .568 slugging percentage with 172 hits, 50 doubles, 17 home runs and 108 RBI. As a sophomore, she led the GMAC in hits (72) and doubles (21) and then finished third in doubles (17) and home runs (7) during her junior campaign.
Norton was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at D&E and graduated with a bachelor's in exercise science. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in strategic leadership at UC.
