Biography

2017 (Sophomore): All-MEC First Team... All-Super Region 1 Third Team (Don Hansen Gazette)... All-MEC Academic Team... led UU in tackles for loss (16) and produced the fifth-most sacks (10.5) in school single-season history... finished eighth among national D-II sack leaders and third in the MEC, while ranking 21st nationally in TFL... he recorded multiple sacks in four games and was credited with three forced fumbles... five sacks that he was credited with came on third down... major factor on Blue Knight defense that registered the program's highest sack total in 10 years and 13th-most team sacks in Division II (3.18/gm)...  posted two sacks and two forced fumbles in his Blue Knight debut against West Liberty... also had two sacks in home games against Glenville State and Notre Dame (OH)... missed season finale against Concord due to injury.

Previous College Experience: Played freshman season at Div. II Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2016... appeared in nine games for the Bears... totaled 13 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack... posted season-best three tackles on two occasions.

High School: Earned three varsity letters at Dayton powerhouse Wayne HS ... named first-team all-conference as a senior with 82 tackles and nine sacks ... helped lead team to the state finals in 2015 ... played in the North-South Area All-Star Game... totaled 46 tackles with 6.5 sacks in his junior season... grabbed one interception and returned a punt for a touchdown junior year... had two sacks as a sophomore... awarded scholar-athlete honors with 3.3 grade-point average.

Personal: Born in November 1997... son of Celeste Gooden... studying psychology at Urbana.
