AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Urbana University Softball split Day 2 at The Spring Games hosted by PFX Athletics with a 6-5 walkoff win over Holy Family and a 6-1 setback against Post at the Auburndale Softball Complex.
Urbana (2-2) will play its third straight doubleheader on Sunday before Monday's day off. The Blue Knights are scheduled to play Assumption at 2:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with Minnesota State-Moorhead.
In Game 1 Saturday,
Britney Bonno homered in the first inning, and despite outhitting the Eagles, that was all the offense the Blue Knights could muster.
Post left-hander Brianna Koref tossed a complete game, allowing five hits with two strikeouts and four walks in the season opener for the Eagles.
Starter
Ashley Fite was solid for Urbana while striking out six batters in 4.2 innings of work. She only allowed four hits as three of six runs allowed were unearned.
Madison Bryant finished the game in the circle and was perfect during an inning-and-a-third.
The Eagles scored three runs in each of the first and fifth innings. All three runs in the fifth were unearned. Two of the three runs in the first scored on a wild pitch. Post second baseman Briana Wilky went 1 for 3 with two RBI.

Mykee Holtz and
Emma Ball each recorded a single for the Blue Knights.
In Game 2, Urbana completed a dramatic comeback as
McKinley Alberts slapped a two-out, bases-loaded single to left field to plate the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Urbana trailed 4-3 after three innings and then 5-3 after Holy Family tacked one on in the sixth. Fite and
Kayleigh Pate each homered in the second inning.
Then, the Blue Knights scored three runs in the seventh on three hits and a pair of Tiger errors.
Freshman
Emma Ball ignited the rally with a leadoff pinch-hit single. Two batters later, Smallwood delivered an RBI single to right center which also moved the tying run to third. Pate brought home the equalizer on a grounder to the right side.
Mackenzie Frantz stepped to the plate two batters later with two outs and drew a walk to load the bases. Alberts came up next and delivered the game-winning hit.
Pate earned the win in the circle while surrendering just two hits and one run through five innings of relief. She struck out eight and walked one.
Holy Family starter Ashley Remington logged 10 strikeouts and allowed 10 hits.
