Swim Teams Earn Scholar All-America Status

Wieser selected as Honorable Mention Scholar All-American

URBANA, Ohio - For the third straight year, Aerika Wieser (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee HS) has been named a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). Wieser made it easy on the selection team by surpassing the minimum requirements of a 3.50 GPA with a perfect 4.0, along with recording a "B" standard time in the 50-yard freestyle.

Additionally, both Urbana swimming teams earned the prestigious recognition as CSCAA Scholar All-America teams. The recognition comes as a result of each team's classroom performance. To be selected, programs must have acheived a GPA of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.

The Blue Knight men's team tied for the eighth-highest team GPA in Division II at 3.33, while the Blue Knight women tied for 10th with a team GPA of 3.52.

CSCAA has designated 658 swimming and diving teams, representing 388 colleges and universities as Scholar All-America teams. It is only the second time in the program's 30+ year history of the program that more than 600 teams.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
