2016-17 (Junior): All-MEC Honorable Mention ... All-MEC Academic Team ... made 16 starts and appeared in 19 games after missing seven contests due to injury ... averaged a team-high 30 minutes per outing ... second on the team in scoring (13.6 ppg - 14th in MEC) and three-point shooting (36 3-pointers) while finishing third in rebounding (5.1 rpg) ...posted a team-high six games with 20 or more points, including a season-high 26 in the season opener at Wright State-Lake (Nov. 13) and 25 points at West Virginia State (Dec. 3) ... knocked down a season-best five treys against Fairmont State (Jan. 16) ... pulled down a season-high eight rebounds on three occasions ... also played on the women's golf team ... named to the AD's Fall and Spring Honor Roll.
2015-16 (Sophomore): All-MEC First Team selection...Started all 28 games and led UU in scoring (16.6 ppg) during her first season as a Blue Knight...She averaged the sixth most points across the league while leading the third-highest scoring offense in the MEC with 17.2 ppg during the regular season...Scored double figures in 23 games, including eight straight contests from Jan. 28 to Feb. 20...Recorded more than 30 points on four occasions...Put up 31 and 32 points in the first two home games of the season, respectively, going a combined 17-of-33 (52%) from the floor...Also put up back-to-back 31-point games against Glenville State and UVa-Wise, where she went a combined 23-of-47 (49%) and 10-of-19 (53%) from range...Knocked down a career-best seven treys in the Glenville State outing...Recorded first career double-double with 22 points and 10 boards at West Virginia Wesleyan...Led the team and ranked among league leaders in FG/G (12.8), FT's made (100), and MIN/G (35.0)...One of the team's top rebounders with nearly five boards per game...Named to the All-MEC Academic Team...Appeared on both the fall and spring AD's Honor Roll...Voted SAAC Athlete of the Month in February...Became a two-sport athlete by joining the women's golf team in the spring...transferred to Urbana after playing 23 games for Maryville University (Mo.) in 2014-15.
Previous Experience: Shafer transferred to Kettering Fairmont for her junior season and helped lead the team to a 27-1 record...Her backcourt play helped her team's dominance in the state of Ohio and its run to a state title and subsequent No. 2 national ranking in USA Today...Shafer was named first-team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-District...She was an All-Conference selection as a senior and twice was named second team...Shafer was named to the District 15 All-Star team and was team captain her senior year...In her final season, she averaged 11.4 ppg to go along with 2.2 rpg.
